Exchange rates are fetched from open.er-api.com and cached for up to 1 hour. If the live API is unavailable, the converter falls back to the last known rates and shows a notice.
All rates are based on EUR (Euro). The converter recalculates any pair by converting through EUR as the base, ensuring consistent results across all currency combinations.
These rates are indicative mid-market rates for informational purposes. Actual transaction rates from banks or payment providers will differ due to spreads and fees. Always confirm the rate with your provider before transacting.
The converter supports 17 major currencies including EUR, USD, GBP, JPY, CHF, CAD, AUD, CNY, SEK, NOK, DKK, PLN, MXN, BRL, INR, SGD and HKD.
If the live rate API fails, the converter automatically uses the last cached rates stored locally. A yellow notice will appear informing you that live rates are unavailable. The cached rates are generally within a few hours of the real market rate.
